Exploring Your Path to
Dual Citizenship
If you suspect you might qualify for citizenship in another country based on your ancestry, I can help you determine your direct lineage to that country and year(s) of US naturalization. This is an essential first step on your path to potential dual citizenship.
In addition, for those with Italian ancestry I can determine through which specific line(s) you do or don’t qualify, and then guide the next steps you’ll need to take.
To get started, I have my clients fill out a brief set of online questionnaires, providing me with basic information regarding what’s known about when and where their family lived in the US as of 1950 or earlier. If you are interested, contact me below.

And as a bonus for those who hire me (see packages below), I’m offering a free, inscribed copy of my book, Let’s Leave the Country!. This is the comprehensive guide I created from personal experience, to help others navigate the process of planning and spending extended time abroad (with or without citizenship).

Do I qualify for Italian citizenship?
For those with known Italian ancestry, I will build your family tree to find your ancestors’ naturalization information. Based on current rules for Italian dual citizenship, I will tell you which ancestral line(s) you likely qualify through (or not), as well as exactly what steps to take next. (Note that recent and unexpected changes by the Italian government has made citizenship by descent far more challenging. More details available as they come...)
You will receive:
-
A full report (as a PDF) of the family tree I build, including a Pedigree Chart and any family groupings discovered in the process of researching your tree.
-
Images of documents relating to immigration, naturalization, or connection to Italy.
-
Assuming naturalization/Italian immigration information is found, I also provide information on your specific ancestral area(s) of Italy — including how to potentially connect with distant relatives.
-
If I cannot access needed information within the subscription resources I utilize, I will tell you how to acquire the necessary information and/or documents.
-
If you do qualify for dual citizenship, I’ll send you a list of additional vital records you’ll need to obtain — in order to prove the unbroken chain to your last Italian-born ancestor.
-
And if it’s clear you don’t qualify, I will explain why that's the case.
-
This package also includes a free Zoom call to go over what I’ve discovered, and for you to ask questions about your family tree, the dual citizenship process, or even about travel in Italy.

Do I have a path to other foreign citizenship?
While most of my experience is with Italian dual citizenship, I can research your options if you suspect you have a path to foreign citizenship elsewhere. Because country borders have changed throughout history and since each country has its own dual citizenship rules, it is challenging to set a fixed offering and fee.
You will receive:
-
A family tree for the branch(es) you are exploring and seek out immigration/naturalization information. In the event specific details are not available in my sources, I will tell you how to obtain them.
-
Images of immigration or naturalization records I do find, along with a PDF pedigree chart.
-
Guidance on available dual citizenship resources for the countries in which you potentially qualify.
-
A Zoom call to go over results with you and show you what I discovered.
Pricing is based on a discounted hourly rate.
